Broward County and Fort Lauderdale have done much work in restoring our infrastructure and other aging assets. Preparing the city and county for growth and from the effects of the changing climate, particularly the Storm Water Management plan, are daunting tasks. There is still much to do. The bill will come due. What remains to be done? What will it cost? And what are the sources for the funding necessary to complete the tasks before us? Marilyn Mammano is a Certified City Planner, formerly a member of the NYC Planning Commission, Director of Zoning and Urban Design and Planning Director for the Borough of Staten Island in New York City. She was an adjunct professor for 12 years at Florida Atlantic University, Department of Urban and Regional Planning. She is a Former President of the Council of Fort Lauderdale Civic Associations and currently a Board member. She has been the Chair of the City of Fort Lauderdale Infrastructure Task Force Advisory Committee since its inception in 2017 and is a member of the Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Susan Grant is currently Assistant City Manager with the City of Fort Lauderdale, Susan Grant has over 30 years’ experience in public management, 27 of which were spent on the senior management team of the City of Coral Springs, Florida. In Coral Springs, Susan served seven years as deputy city manager in addition to time as director of financial services, director of human resources and city controller. During Susan’s time there, she helped guide the City in the successful pursuit of many prestigious awards, including the 2007 Malcolm Baldridge Award and Florida Governor’s Sterling Awards in 2003 and 1997. Susan also served as an examiner for both awards, and she currently serves as a judge for the Florida Governor’s Sterling Award.
Mr. Taylor’s 36-year career in South Florida has been dedicated to water resources, stormwater management, and climate resiliency. He has held leadership positions in the private and public sector and has proven to be an effective communicator and consensus builder.
As Hazen and Sawyer’s first (and long-time) Corporate Practice Leader for Stormwater Management, Mr. Taylor is deeply entrenched in stormwater, green infrastructure, and resiliency projects/programs in Florida and elsewhere throughout the nation.
