Tim Robbie, President of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, oversees all Strikers’ department heads, with emphasis on the business side of the organization.
Robbie’s appointment by the Strikers Ownership Board ensures continuity between the previous Strikers administration and the new ownership group’s desire to see that the club continues to provide a first-class soccer experience to the South Florida community.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to have a significant role with the club,” Robbie said. “I’m very excited about the new ownership group’s vision for the club’s future, and I look forward to working with all of the great people in this organization in order to continue to improve the club in every respect. This club has a tremendous legacy to live up to, and everyone involved in the club must always be mindful of the responsibility that comes with that legacy.”
Robbie has served the Strikers in various capacities since its initial founding in 1977. As the club’s general manager beginning in 1981, he oversaw all aspects of the club, including the Strikers’ 1984 move from the North American Soccer League [NASL] to the Major Indoor Soccer League [MISL], which prompted a relocation from Fort Lauderdale to Minnesota.
Robbie’s tenure with the new Strikers coincided with the club’s rebirth in 2011. He served as president of the Strikers in 2011 and 2012 and managing director of the club in 2013 and 2014.
