Rob Wyre, Shipwreck Park backgrounder

Rob Wyre is Chairman of Shipwreck Park Pompano Beach.  He is a founding member of the Not for Profit Corporation created in 2015.

Shipwreck Park is an example of what’s possible with a successful Public Private Partnership. From the private side as Regional Vice President of Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park in 2015 Rob was able to convince corporate leadership that investing $315,000 toward the deployment of the Lady Luck in northern Broward county was not only good for business but good for the environment.  Likewise, Greg Harrison Assistant City Manager of Pompano Beach was able to convince the City manager and City Commission as well for making the investment.

Along with the support of additional donors Lady Luck became a reality on July 23, 2016.

The following year Shipwreck Park deployed it’s second artificial reef the Okinawa less than a mile east of the Pompano Beach Pier.

Wahoo Bay is Shipwreck Park’s current and most ambitious project to date.
