Density: The Affordable Housing Conversation We Aren’t Having Enough
We all know that housing affordability is a big issue in South Florida and is an important business issue as employers struggle to attract and retain workers. Proposed solutions include affordable housing set asides, office building conversions and density in commercial and industrial areas as allowable by the recently passed Live Local Act. Our population continues to increase and demands more density in our neighborhoods. What are some of the challenges that need to be addressed to create more dense areas and what are some of the myths and misconceptions that people have opposed to density in their community?
