Transportation: Broward County on the move

What are the challenges facing our complex transportation infrastructure? Learn from experts how its successes have helped Broward County to be a gateway to the international market, an attraction for business and tourism, and at the same time provide a network of roads and systems so each of us can get where we want to go and when we want to get there every day.

PANELISTS:

  • Kent George has served as the Director of Aviation for Broward County since 2007. He is responsible for the overall operation, planning and development of both Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and North Perry Airport. Ken’s strong vision and leadership were a catalyst for the approval of the South Runway Expansion at FLL, expected to be completed in 2014.
  • Steven Cernak, P.E., PPM, Chief Executive / Port Director, Port Everglades Department of Broward County was appointed to this top position in March 2012.
    He previously served as the Port Director and CEO for the Port of Galveston, TX where he also served as President of the Galveston Port Facilities Corporation.
  • James Wolfe, P.E., District Secretary, Florida Department of Transportation is responsible for all state roads in Broward County, Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. Wolfe is a member of the FDOT Executive Board, a member of the South East Florida Regional Partnership Executive Board and a board member
    of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.
