Should Broward County be renamed Fort Lauderdale County?

January 10, 2013

Fort Lauderdale is a familiar destination. People visit, vacation, move to, and open businesses in Fort Lauderdale. For those of us who don’t live or work here, Broward County is much less well-known. Who vacations or moves to Broward County? Should we capitalize on the equity in the Fort Lauderdale brand and change the name of Broward County to Fort Lauderdale County?
