Ms. Jumorrow Terra Johnson is a Victim Services Practitioner for the State of Florida with over 20 years of experience in the Criminal Justice and Social Service arena. Jumorrow Terra holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Sociology and a Masters’ Degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining the Office of the State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit as the Human Trafficking Coordinator, Jumorrow Terra was employed with Plantation Police Department, Florida Atlantic University Police Department as a Victim Advocate and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Jumorrow Terra’s experience includes that of victim advocacy to which she assisted all victims of crime with court issues/proceedings, referring victims to appropriate services, assisting victims with obtaining restraining orders/injunctions, accompanying victims to court hearings when needed, collaborating and networking with community-based organizations and NGO(s) to assure the victim’s needs were being met. Jumorrow Terra’s level of expertise also include assisting and working directly with victims/survivors of Sexual Battery/Assault, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Jumorrow Terra served in a supervisory role while at the Department of Juvenile Justice serving crossover youth, moderate-high and high-risk female youth, juvenile sex offenders and interstate compact youth. Jumorrow Terra is certified in “The Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing.” Jumorrow Terra is an Executive Board Member of the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition currently serving as President. Jumorrow Terra served on the Advisory Board for Nova Southeastern University’s CREATE (Coalition for Research and Education Against Trafficking and Exploitation) Program. Jumorrow Terra has conducted several training webinars on Human Trafficking for Nova University’s CREATE Program. Jumorrow Terra has also hosted, coordinated and facilitated multiple meetings between Global Ties International of Miami, Broward Human Trafficking Coalition, The FBI, Homeland Security and local Law Enforcement to discuss transnational crimes which included Human Trafficking with dignitaries and officials from Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Poland and Portugal. Jumorrow Terra has been featured on Channel 6’s segment “NBC 6 in the Mix” discussing the realization of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking in Florida. Jumorrow-Terra was nominated for the 2015 Survivor Advocate of the year award and the 2016 Victim Advocate of the Year Award. Jumorrow Terra is a previous recipient of the Ruby Award from Soroptimist for her work in Human Trafficking. Jumorrow Terra was featured on the 2019 cover of the Good News Magazine as, “a woman on the front line fighting Human Trafficking.” Jumorrow was also awarded the 2109 Lifetime Hero award by the FLITE Center of Broward County for her tireless work in Human Trafficking and victim advocacy. Jumorrow Terra is a vetted public speaker/trainer and is considered an expert in the area of Human Trafficking, Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Crimes Against Women.
